This 14 days and 13nights safari takes you to the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Tarangire National Park and is available in moderate luxury style
Days 1: Arrive Arusha, Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be met by our private guide who will escort you to Rivertrees Country Inn at Arusha where you will make your overnight stay.
Days 2-3: Eastern Serengeti Nature Refuge
You will take your flight from Arusha to reach eastern Serengeti ecosystem. This is a place filled with variety of wildlife and also has local schools and villages. As soon as you reach the airport your Thomson guide will welcome you at the airport and drive you to several Nyumba Camps which is an exclusive place for Thomson guests. You will spend your morning by hiking remote landscapes and spend your evening viewing wildlife and spend relaxing time with Maasai friends. You will make your 2 days overnight stay at Eastern Serengeti Nyumba.
Days 4-8: Serengeti National Park
After having breakfast you will be driven to Serengeti National Park. You would spend four days covering about 6,000 square miles of plains and have a spectacular view of riverine forests and acacia woodlands. You would watch for variety of elusive animals in your four days at Serengeti National Park. Your guide will be with you and with his/her guiding you can enjoy watching lions, baboons, giraffe, elephants, zebra, and more wildlife. You will spend your evening in nyumba camps watching the stars and relaxing for the day. The nyumba camps keep moving as per season to enhance viewing of wildlife. The most vital activity during East African safaris is the hot air balloon safari. You can do this activity as an option provided you have made an advanced reservation and this activity involves additional fees. You make your overnight stay and have your wonderful dinner for all the four days at Serengeti Nyumbas.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Highlands
You start your day with your drive to Gibb’s Farm. Gibb’s Farm is an eco-lodge situated in the Ngorongoro Highlands and is a notable historic coffee estate and you are sure to enjoy in this natural environment. You can enjoy the day with lot of activities at Gibb’s Farm like going for a hike with a naturalist or you can make a tour to organic gardens and make a visit with a local historian. In the evening you can enjoy having relaxing outdoor shower and cup of tea and relaxing in the natural environment. You can enjoy having spa service and also various activities are available in Gibb’s Farm which are optional and can be taken on payment of additional fees. You will spend your overnight stay at Gibb’s Farm.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
You will spend your whole day packing your picnic lunch and exploring Ngorongoro Crater which is a home for about 30,000 animals. Ngorongoro Crater is 10-mile wide, 2,000-foot and has lot of wildlife in it like flamingos, hyena, zebra, and bull elephants to name a few. You can also see rarely lions, cheetah, and rhinos. You would reach for having your wonderful natural farm-fresh meal prepared at Gibb’s Farm straight from their garden and make your overnight stay at Gibb’s Farm.
Days 11-12: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will be driven to Tarangire National Park which has wide varieties of wildlife and birdlife and is also the home for some of the largest herds of elephant in East Africa. Tarangire is known as bird paradise and also has lots of trees, tree climbing African pythons and herds of elephants. You can enjoy your two days at Tarangire National Park by visiting lions drink from a waterhole; giraffe snatch leaves from towering trees, reedbuck dash across grasslands, and many more. You can also see and enjoy some of the rare wild animals like Oryx, gazelle, zebra, impala, lion, leopard, the rare cheetah and wildebeest. You will spend your evenings nestled between baobab trees watching the stars at Nyumba Camp. You will make your overnight stay for these two days at Tarangire Nyumba.
Days 13-14: Tarangire National Park to Arusha
Drive to Arusha. Upon reaching Arusha you will have an excellent farewell lunch at River House which is a community-based nonprofit organization. After lunch you can explore the city by making a visit to adjoining arts center and enjoy seeing the excellent craftsmanship of local disabled artisans. The training to these people is funded by River House. You can spend your day relaxing in the room at Mount Meru Hotel. In the evening you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home.
